GO Transit fares are calculated based on the distance travelled. When you tap on, PRESTO will recognize your fare type adult, student or senior and apply loyalty discounts as applicable. When you tap off at the end of your trip, PRESTO will deduct the remaining amount of your fare based on the distance travelled.

You need to make sure that you have enough funds on your PRESTO card when you tap off to cover the total cost of your trip. If your card has been added to a My PRESTO Account, you can go into a negative balance to pay for one trip as long as you have at least the minimum base fare on your card.

If you forget to tap off , the fare to the last stop on the train line or bus route will be deducted from your PRESTO card with your fare type and any applicable loyalty discounts applied. If you are taking a trip for which you have a Default Trip set on your card, the entire fare will be charged to your card when you tap on.

Passes can be purchased and loaded in person at an HSR Customer Service Outlet or online , except for Senior annual passes, which can only be purchased in person. Please note that passes purchased online will take 24 hours to reach your card, at which point you must tap on a PRESTO device. If you take more than 11 trips in one week using your card balance, all subsequent rides will be free for that week. All cardholders travelling on HSR using a card balance will be automatically eligible.
