Why dunlop univibe discontinued

Thanks Jason! You're a great guy. And it was nice meeting you! It's been too busy of a day, but this weekend, I plan to get very acquainted with my new Rotovibe. Papus , Jan 20, Thanks, Phil. It was great meeting you too and talking shop! I hope you enjoy it and look forward to hearing how you like it.

Looks cool, man! I love the Fulltone version. I'm sure you'll have fun with that one. I have this same JH-4S version. And I also have the older Dunlop UniVibe with the separate foot controller. My UniVibe is from the 90's. I would suggest making so after each dismantling of the unit since spreading it on your bench WILL break wires Post by blackbunny » 07 Feb , lolbou wrote: When rehousing the unit back in place, I replaced the old and crapopy ribbon cable with longer length of good quality one.

I added some hot glue on ach PCB main, switches and pots to keep it straight and avoid mechanical strain. Post by Tonetweaker » 08 Feb , blackbunny wrote: Good tip, thanks. I just put mine back together and for the first time ever it doesn't 'vibe. Post by blackbunny » 09 Feb , Tonetweaker wrote: Good luck on the fix.

Hope it's nothing major. Post by Tonetweaker » 10 Feb , blackbunny wrote: Tonetweaker wrote: Good luck on the fix. Makes me think it might still be going strong in 20 years time. Very nice sounding pedal though.

I guess SMD makes sense when you want to get lots of circuitry in a small enclosure. The Uni-Vibe footswitch with turn off the effect Vibe sound! How do I know if it's the Uni-Vibe or the footcontroller at fault? Post by lolbou » 08 Mar , Can you elaborate on these models, I mean, what do these refer to? I then bought the Ultra Vibe which was awesome, but then got the Mojo because of the size and sold the Ultra Vibe. The Ultra Vibe was the most authentic to my ears. The newer Fulltones may be better than the one I had, but the Dunlop was not bad except for the extended range. All good input!! Think I'm leaning toward the Fulltone DV2. I like the placement of the foot knob, too. Still, probably won't use the chorus setting that much.

I've heard a few good ones and a few bad ones but I've yet to hear a GREAT one plus they are a bit heavy on the noise and the bypass sort of sucks. Sounds good, well made, well thought out and they can be had almost anywhere and they are also one of the only full blown vibe copies that can be had with NO wait list and no stupid inflated second hand prices!

CharlieK Member. I've got the Dunlop and I think it sounds just fine. Lack of true bypass is the only downfall because I like it before drive pedals and most fuzz pedals react much better either first in line or behind only true bypass pedals. Messages 3, I have a Fulltone gold Deja Vibe, and I like it a lot. I would say get the Fulltone.

I have had both. I really liked the UniVibe. I had it for years one of my first pedals. I think it sounds great, but could only find two settings that i liked. I thought it was nice and chunky a la SRV's "Tightrope". The power supply tore up and i took that excuse to get a Deja Vibe 2 now discontinued and i really really like it.

Its not as chunky, but much more versatile. I love the treadle. That helps a lot. It goes from kinda fast to super fast a little too quick, but i like the superfast setting. Kinda "underwaterish" either way, i think you will be pleased. As a follow-up, I bought a used Rotovibe at a guitar store, and have been practicing and gigging with it consistently for about a year.

Love it. Sounds amazing on bass. You must log in or register to reply here.
